CENTELSA is a manufacturing company of cables for energy and communications, which has been part of the industry since 1955, during which time it has retained its leadership as the first cable manufacturer in Colombia. It has a network of strategically located offices to cover the national and international market, thus offering an opportune service.

A history to be proud of

- 1955
The Company INCE LTDA (Industria Nacional de Conductores Eléctricos) started its operation in the city of Cali, manufacturing low voltage cables as magnet wire for applications in motor winding.
- 1961
CEAT GENERAL of COLOMBIA S.A was established through the merger GENERAL CABLE CORPORATION from the USA and CEAT INTERNATIONAL from Italy.


- 1980
It was started the expansion Project and the building of the plant number 2.
- 1985
CEAT GENERAL was awarded by the national government for its contributions to industrial and public sector development of the country.


- 1989
CEAT GENERAL received THE NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD as recognition for the technological development and the contribution to the quality improvement of the country.
- 1991
ICONTEC granted to CEAT GENERAL (CENTELSA) the Register Quality Assurance under the standard: NTC – ISO 9001, Certificate No. 002-1. This certificate was the first one in the country.


- 1993
It was the beginning of the Plant no. 3 Expansion Project; acquisition of new technology and new equipment.
- 1994
CENTELSA (CABLES DE ENERGIA Y TELECOMUCACIONES S.A) was formed by the merger of CEAT GENERAL DE COLOMBIA S.A, FACOMEC and FADALTEC S.A.

CENTELSA achieved The LAPEM certification (Laboratorio aprobado por la Comisión Federal de Electricidad de México – CFE).

CENTELSA became part of the Viakable, cables division of the industrial Mexican group Xignux, a fact that places the company among the top 10 cable companies worldwide.

Certification of the occupational health program “CONDUSEGURA under the OHSAS 18001 international standard.
CENTELSA started to be a part of the United Nations Global Pact.
The first Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Report based on the GRI methodology were published.

Colciencias and Cámara de Comercio de Cali awarded CENTELSA with the global credential of innovation due to its experience, knowledge and skills demonstrated in “Corporate Innovation Management”.

CENTELSA participated in the International Fair of the Electrical Sector-FISE 2017, obtaining a special recognition when being among the nine finalists to the FISE Innovation Award, with two of its projects:
- Photovoltaic cables (PV) with UL certification, manufactured with own insulation (SICE) developed by CENTELSA.
- Cables with RoHS insulation and covers.

THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF QUALITY of Peru – INACAL validates the accreditation of the Testing Laboratory of CENTELSA issued by the National Accreditation Body of Colombia – ONAC; achievement that reaffirms its commitment to Quality.
CENTELSA obtains authorization from PROMPERÚ for the use of its Country Brand logo.

CENTELSA receives the EQUIPARES award for its commitment to complying with the requirements of the Gender Equality Management System standard. This mention is granted by the Ministry of Labor and the Vice-Presidency of the Republic, with the accompaniment of the United Nations Development Program.

CENTELSA receives the seal that accredits it as a company nominated for the FISE award for innovation in its 2019 edition, remaining among the five finalists, in the category of successful businesses with its CENTELSA ACCC Cables

CENTELSA receives the renewable energy certificate – I-REC, granted by EPM, which validates energy consumption with a zero emission factor, in the annual inventory of Greenhouse Gases (GHG). By using green energy, the emission of approximately 251 tons of CO2 is compensated for the consumption of electrical energy in the period July to December 2019.

CENTELSA is a pioneer in obtaining and updating the different certificates required by customers and employees; by achieving the ICONTEC certificate under the ISO 45001: 2018 / OS -CER292506 standard, which replaces OHSAS 18001.

CENTELSA receives the AEO certification by the National Tax and Customs Directorate – DIAN, for the importer AND exporter modalities.

In CENTELSA we continue energizing life, that is why we have the Biosafety operations certification issued by ICONTEC, which ratifies us as a safe and reliable organization thanks to the implementation and systematic application of biosafety protocols.
This seal is a milestone that supports the work that the company has done since the beginning of the pandemic to safeguard the health and welfare of all its energizers, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders with efficient measures applied in the company.
